Phenelzine has a GABAergic metabolite, largely responsible for its calming and sedative effects; this is unlike tranylcypromine and selegiline. Selegiline has (l-) amphetamine metabolites, and tolerance easily develops, as happened to me. I would expect tranylcypromine too to produce tolerance.
