i tried this out for stress, usually i take l-tyrosine for stress and motivation, but i tried rhodiola out, they say it has depression lifting symptoms, and stress management. First it acts on noradrenaline system, i noticed that, i took some and i noticed more alertness, and a bit of irritability. I don't know what the exact mechanism is but it adapts the noradrenaline systems during stress, it work on serotonin a bit, but does not hit dopamine.
It improves your performance in psyhcial tasks, incudling excerise, and handling stress. No dopamine i've seen involved, mainly adrenaline and norepinephrine is what it works on, and some serotonin. If you take too much, it will make irritable, i took 100mg and was fine then took another then i was more alert and increased performance but there was irritability involved. It's good for a good "pick me upper" to do tasks, but it does not work on dopamine systems. It's mainly stress chemicals like cortisol and noradrenaline systems
