I have had times when I felt like I was being buried alive. I'll go with 'depressed' for the worst of my symptoms as in 'pressed beneath the ground' even though 'depressed' has become a bit casually used these days. Oppressed is how I would say I feel about my more dysthymic times and neuroticisms. There is a fair amount terror my depression.
Oppressed or depressed, agreed is the sense of being crushed.
