HI TAMPA GIRL, I'M SORRY I AM RESPONDING A BIT LATE TO YOUR POST! I WANT TO WISH YOU MUCH LUCK WITH CBT. IT HAS HELPED ME QUITE A BIT, THAT AND PROZAC/KLONOPIN COMBO.
I HAD A CHANCE TO GLANCE AT THE "OCD WORKBOOK" AT BARNES AND NOBLE THE OTHER DAY,[ WOULD HAVE BOUGHT IT, BUT CASH FLOW IS LIMITED RIGHT NOW, LOL] AND IT REALLY SPECIFIES "ERP" AS THE BEST TREATMENT FOR OCD. I WOULD ASK YOUR THERAPIST ABOUT THAT AT YOUR SESSION. I SUPPOSE THAT IS PART OF ANY GOOD CBT THERAPISTS AGENDA, BUT I HAVE HAD 2 THERAPISTS WHO CLAIMED TO BE CBT THERAPISTS, WITH KNOWLEDGE OF OCD, WHO DIDN'T APPLY ERP. I AM GOING TO LOOK INTO AN EXTENSIVE ERP PROGRAM AT TEMPLE UNIVERSITY IN PHILLY WHERE I LIVE, I THINK IT MAY MAKE A DIFFERENCE. GOOD LUCK...JOHN BERK

I've heard that is very effective for obsessions with compulsions. I mainly had pure obsessions, so we didn't use that all that much.
But CBT in general is very useful, and I'm sure exposure and response prevention would be a useful tool, as long as it was done with skill and sensitivity.
Flooding, I've heard, backfires sometimes.
