I have a new T :-) She seems really nice and sensitive and smart which is just what I look for in a T. She is with our uni councelling service which I typicallly don't go in for (too close to home, also they are typically intended for short term 3 or 4 sessions kind of stuff). She said that she is going to talk to her supervisor about taking me on as a regular, though, but as she hasn't gotten around to it yet, she has just scheduled me in regardless :-) I think she has been trained in narrative therapy (which I typically don't go in for - I usually try to see psychologists or try to convince p-docs to be my T) - but narrative therapy is looking about 120% better than CBT for me at this point :-)
Sorry about all the smiles, but I am really happy. We seem to have a good understanding between us already (after 2 sessions) and she is not afraid of / concerned about the voices and dissociation. We have even agreed on an approach to try to take. I have been experiencing anger (for the first time) over the last month or so, and that is good. One of my alters thinks I am boring and pathetic, but she's gotta respect anger - and I can see that while I don't respect her recklessness, I would like some of that fearlessness.
Things are looking up for me. Finally. I shall try and enjoy it, and not idealise her too much...
