I've been lurking for months and months now and finally screwed up the courage to register... hadn't done so before b/c 1), I'm very shy, and 2), I already read these boards at work and have been afraid that the ability to post will reduce my productivity even further! Eh, oh well.
Um, quick history as to why I'm here. Had depression starting in middle school, was diagnosed BPD on top of that. Went into remission at 18, thought everything was hunky-dory until I had my son at 27 and was hit by massive post-partum depression (he's 17 months now). And EVERYTHING has come out of remission. I'm in therapy 2x week and on lots of meds and am still not entirely stable. :(
But you all seem so nice here so I thought I'd join! I'll probably hang out mostly on the psych board. I know a little bit about a lot of people here and I look forward to officially "meeting" everyone. Thanks for reading this!

Welcome to babble! I look forward to seeing you on the boards (I'm usually on Social, Books and Substance). It might be quiet during this holiday weekend, but sometimes that's good way to start. This place can get pretty busy.

Hi Grey,
Congrats on plucking up the courage and welcome to the boards!
I was wondering if you could tell me a little more about your BPD, as I feel there is a good chance that I suffer from it also judging from the diagnosis criteria I have found online.
I am male, and I understand that it is usually women that experience BPD, however I identify with 70-80% of the criteria and many posts that I have seen online.
If you don't mind sharing, would you tell me a little about your experience of the illness?
