Hi everyone-
I'm 26 and I live in NY; I've had anxiety and panic for years and am a moderator on a board that offers support for women. I found out about this site through a link on my alma mater's Q&A help service - Dear Uncle ezra (ezra.cornell.edu). Things are more or less in control -- I am on meds, in therapy, and live a healthy lifestyle including diet, exercise, meditation, and exploring my spirituality. I have very little "in person" support as I am estranged from my family and have no real friends in town (I have many long-distance friends I keep in touch with though!)...
So, there's my little intro. Nice meeting all of you.
:) K

Nice to meet you , too. I've been posting here since October 2003 (OMG!!!) and feel like *this* is my support. I too have no local, real life support. I'm down in Florida and I'm bipolar2, have GAD and panic attacks, all largely under control.
Feel free to wander the boards and post wherever you like.

Thank you for your kind reply. This is quite unlike the board I moderate; it is broader in scope but with more opinions comes a greater likelihood that someone's going to come at you arms swinging -- I'm still feeling it out.
It is nice to be welcomed so quickly and so warmly. :)

Can I ask which board it is that you are a moderator on? I wouldn't mind taking a look - I'm always looking for support wherever it may hide...

Hi partlycloudy -- I had to re-register because this site messed up my password or something. I tried to retrieve it and all and it won't send to my email address. Sheesh. ;)Anyway - yes - happy to share! You can check it out at http://www.womenssupportgroup.com/
You can lurk around some of the sections as a guest; but there's much more to see if you register (it's free - just like here, we just need to be able to trace spammers and trolls and such).
We uphold a strict policy on non-judgement and there's a lot of my own personal history up there so *fingers crossed* I hope you or anyone reading this will be respectful of that... I'm feeling a little vulnerable but I love the site too much not to share! :)
