Hi
My name is John and I was diagnosed a year 1/2 ago, I have been all kinds of drugs from lexipro to paxil.
I now take 1500mg of depakote and 150mg of effexor xr a day.
I still have problems sleeping, but at 38 I have never needed much sleep and when I need to I can always find that second wind.
I have become much calmer and my anger fits are gone , but I still find the the adrenalin junkie in me , and my disgust at ignorance a major dilema in my day to day life.
Any help would be great!
TY
John

Hiya John, nice to meet you :-)
Welcome to Babble.
Sounds like things have gotten a little better for you on your medication so that is good :-)Feel free to jump on the other boards. The main Babble board is where people post about different types of medications and whether they find them helpful or not. The alternatives board deals with alternative / complimentary treatment (such as suppliments etc). Social is just to chat about anything you like (and is a good place to meet people). Then there is Politics, and Faith, and Books (or tv), and Writing (creative writing) - and so there are a lot of boards.
There don't seem to be too many people on this board at the moment...
So I would suggest you jump onto another board and say hello.
:-)
Hope you stick around.
Look foward to reading more of your posts.

John,
I have been dealing with the same issues as you, but for about 3-4 years now. I had a terrible time sleeping and take the same drugs you do. After I really complained about the sleeping problem a doctor perscribed me Trazadone and I have not had a problem sleeping for 2 years. Maybe you could ask your doc. Presently I am attempting to get off effexor. Works wonderful on depression and muscle aches for me, but I am having some other side effects that have made me decide to give it up.
Good Luck
This is the end of the thread.
