hello from newbie

Hi everyone
Newbie here, am curious about psych meds as am on paxil cr and have gained some weight, unhappy about that. Also have body image issues, which makes aforementioned weight gain not real helpful; adds to anxiety. Hope to find like-minded people, and hope I can be helpful to others as well, life experience of other people always helpful and interesting.

Good to see you. I see that you have made your way over to the med board. I am sure that you will receive a lot of helpful info there.

I too, suffer from a very distorted self image that no amount of logic will correct. And I also have med induced weight gain. I can totally sympathize with what you are going through.

I invite you to have a look around all the boards. This is a very friendly and supportive place to be.

Thanks for the welcome...its nice to know people sympathize, cause some folks in my life are like, yeah, just deal with it weight doesnt matter...which is true on a spiritual level, but to exist in this society, it does matter, and women seem to have alot of issues with it. So to have these so-called helpful meds have that as a side effect doesnt seem like something most women would want. Sigh.....
