Hello! I've lurked occasionally on the babble boards over the last few years--what great boards and tips! I'm hoping to get support for day-to-day taking care of myself--like exercise, especially!
I've struggled with depression and anxiety for years and have been on meds for about 5: Paxil first (prescribed by a neurologist for migraines!) and then Effexor XR, which worked better.
I did some cognitive therapy work last year and *loved* it! I'm hoping this is a place I can use to get support and encouragement for taking care of myself.
I'm having trouble finding a good local psychiatrist (my doctor's maintaining my Effexor Rx); I'm in a smallish town and an excellent psych/therapy center is a 1.5+ hr drive, which is too difficult especially when doing things feels harder. I'd really like someone who doesn't just throw meds at you. Any suggestions?
Thanks, and take care of yourself in this journey!

Hello bailey,
welcome to babble, since you have lurked you probably know that there are some remarkable people on this site.
We are here to interact with you and support.
there are so many sites to join that I am not sure which one would be your favorite.
I love Social Babble.
But psychological babble is so incredible for meds.
and the alternative babble can help you make choices about the non med choices.
you might totally enjoy the health board.
please check it all out to your satisfaction.
we are some cool people.
I have so enjoyed this site.
welcome and find your way to what feels right.
I am glad to have you here.
Jai Narayan
