I never want to eat again ... or try on clothes

Posted by Maxime on April 9, 2005, at 23:53:32

Hi

Today I went shopping for sweatpants. You know, the good old fashion kind that are baggy and comfy (especially when you have PMS). AN ADULT SIZE LARGE WAS TOO TIGHT!

I sat crying in the changing room at Winners (TJ-MAX in the U.S.). The ones I have are from Gap Kids (boys) and they are not too tight. But now sweat pants are LOW CUT and STREAMLINED!! I want baggy sweatpants!!!!

Even in T-Shirts I am taking a large. LARGE! I know I am fat but something seems wrong.

All I have eaten in the past 3 days is one can of Ensure. How much less can I eat? I want to be 70 pounds again. I can't live in this body.

I'm never trying on clothes again. I wish I never had to eat again either. I wish I would die in my sleep. I sincerely mean that. I need to be at peace. I can't live like this anymore.

I need help.

Hey Maxime,

Sorry to hear you're having such an awful time. :( Gawd, I hate "fat days"... they can be esp. nasty around "that time of the month", cant they?

<<now sweat pants are LOW CUT and STREAMLINED!! I want baggy sweatpants!!!!>>>
I know what you mean. Sweatpants designed for slumming around the house seem to be a thing of the past... they've become a "fashion statement" of sorts. Is it possible that the pants were tight b/c that's the way they were supposed to fit? You mentioned that you own a pair of boys sweatpants from Gap Kids... if you can still wear KIDS clothes, can you really be as "fat" as you think you are?

I remember when I was at a higher weight, my perception of myself was very distorted. I used to wear clothes (shirts in particular) at least two sizes too big. Is it possible that you could be doing the same thing w/ your size L shirts?

You mentioned that all you've had to eat in the past 3 days is one can of Ensure. Hon, I dont think I have to tell you that this isnt a healthy way to lose weight. All it does is mess up your metabolism, and make you more likely to binge later. If you are objectively "overweight", there are much healthier, more long-term solutions than starving yourself!

I can understand wanting to get back down to 70lbs. Hell, I've been there. After being hospitalized & gaining weight, I would always look back on my "thin days" with a lot of nostalgia, and I would set about losing weight again in search of that elusive "perfect" size that never really existed. And when I get down to that low weight again, I realized that I felt just as crappy as when I was "fat".

Anway, I hope you do take care of yourself... If you don't who else will?

love,
claire

It's because I am pear shaped. Even at 70 pounds I was pear shaped. Seriously, the size large were stretched across my butt. It wasn't a perception problem ... it was a fact. Then I tried an extra large and ended up with extra material in the crotch. It's also the yoga trend. Nothing seems to have a drawstring anymore.

I feel crappy no matter what my weight so I might as well be thin an feel like crap.
