I was planning to try Inositol for OCD. I read that it helps with OCD. However more of less accidentally I read in a forum that women also use Inositol for PMS! This made me wonder and then I googled a bit and found out that inositol greatly lowers testosterone levels! This means that for men it's absolutely negative. Even if it helped with OCD I'd not take it if it lowers testosterone. This is really sad and also upsetting cause when you order inositol online as powder or pills then there are NO warnings that it lowers testosterone. You just order it and think it's safe and it's not.
This is the big disadvantage of supplements. When you buy a drug you at least get a leaflet and you're told what side effects the drug has but supplements don't have this and you just think they're safe.

I didn't know this. I would have started taking inositol in a few weeks. I will have to rethink this.
