I think that happens when people post to an old thread they've found in the archives, it shows up at the top of the board to give people watching the board now the chance to respond to it if they want, not just the original posters to the thread.

Right you are, Quintal. Any new post will show on the current board because it is new, even though the post it's in response to may be years old. It will eventually be archived together with posts including this (current) date. I think the board software places them at the top vs. the bottom because it always goes by the oldest date in each thread, and now this has become older than all others b/c it contains posts from say, 2004.
IWS, thanks for explaining to the poster how to start a new thread at the bottom. Very thoughtful 'cause so many people don't look at the top of Psych :-)
It also happens because people search for a phrase, or a few key words through Google, let's say like one there now..."therapy termination," or some variation of that, and they get some hits and just post, without maybe even looking at the dates (the year is easy to miss, I think) or realizing the post(s) are a year or more old and that person, or the others involved, may or may or be following or reading.
whew....now THAT was one run-on sentence!
