Yes, I agree it's offensive.

But it's also nice to see the follow up apology post:

It was directed at me, so I guess I get a right to vote on it. That post hurt a lot, and at a time when I was and am very vulnerable. Yes, reading it activated that inner critical voice telling me all sorts of bad things about myself, like 'I shouldn't be upset, since it's so much worse for someone like Impermanence...' The apology also felt insincere to me.

On the other hand, the poster *did* apologize. Since we never really know what someone else is thinking behind what's written, I think we have to honor that.

Racer,

I hope you don't mind me posting about it on Admin. I guess my first instinct, right or wrong, is to protect the posters I "know" a little more. Probably not necessarily always the best reaction as I don't "know" everyone, but I went with my gut and didn't want to see you hurt any more than you are already hurting.

I'm glad to have seen an apology.

Laurie

That's my inclination, too. I'm sorry you were hurt.

Now that I'm over the worst of my crisis, I reread the apology, and it 'feels' much more sincere to me. I'm sorry that I posted that it didn't feel genuine to me, because now that I'm a little less frantic, I think it was unkind of me to have done so publicly.

Yeah, my feelings were hurt. It felt like a slap in the face to me when I read it. What proportion of that was me being hypersensitive? A high percentage, I'd say. Guess it's the bane of internet bulletin boards for those of us with mood disorders, huh?

I guess this is my apology. I'm very sorry if Impermanence read the above and was hurt by it.
