Is depression an altered state of consciousness?
What about being drunk?
My doctor resists my describing depression as being an altered state of consciousness. I don't think such a generic term should be reserved for psychedelics.

You're welcome. And you make a good point. A more specific way of describing what psychedelics and certain breathing exercises can do comes from Ocean Eagle's Activation Breathwork website. "The expansion of love for humanity and Mother Earth was overwhelming."
