Hi all,
This time of year (where I live) there is a significant increase in the number of daylight hours. This tends to throw my system for a loop, and I find closing the blinds early around 6pm really helps keep my sleep and mood in check.

It makes sense. I am the opposite though. I live in the northern hemisphere and i have both SADs, Social anxiety and seasonal affective :)

summer around here sometimes triggers low mood for me. gets very bright, very hot...
at an intuitive level, it makes sense that if one runs to a more anxious or agitated, possible mixed state of being, then a relatively sudden shift into long lasting, bright light could be a bit of a problem.
anyway...im glad you know yourself well enough to do helpful self-care. one thing that i think hampered my 'treatment' was leaning too heavily on the 'experts' to somehow know me...that and not pursuing proper self-care techniques. lesson learned (sigh).
how's it going, otherwise?

In my 37 years (I'm just about to be 52) of this mental roller coaster, I have also found that summers have been my least favorite season of the year. I don't like the hot weather (and I'm a life-long Florida Cracker!) - with my red-headed temper and my anxiety, I tend to get heated & depressed easier in the summertime.

I didn't know this exists... Too much light! I strive in the summer. Even use light therapy in the winter. I didn't know some people like darkness!
