Hi,
My son took Risperidone 2 years ago, 1mg for 3 days and 0.5mg for 3 months (probably missed a few days too). He is concerned that this medicine has harmed him and has researched XYZ potential issues with this drug. He is now a collegiate athlete distance runner and is basically giving up training and a big scholarship because of these perceived damages. His concerns are mild puffy nipples, slight weight gain (142 last year now 150lbs), and thinking his brain has been affected too. We all see this as OCD but he sees this as a real threat. We have observed this hyper fear with other things, concern over a coolant leak in car, concern over stress, now concern over medication damage. He is convinced that Risperdal has ruined him and has been in therapy for the last 2 years. He got over the other concerns but is admittedly stuck on this Risperdal issue. His therapist is saying ERP treatment wont work unless he has some doubt that this is true. Im looking for some advice or maybe and expert that can comment on these issues, can you help?
Thanks,
This is the end of the thread.
