Switching off of 1.5 klonopin seems to be to much of a downer than other Benzo. Dr mentioned Ativan or perhaps Valium or Tranzene what would be the easiest transition

yes klono is mind dulling, sedating, its good for insomnia and severe anxiety, but it causes depression, mention to your doc something called ibrium, it is a benzo they used to detox people off barbiturates and alcohol. It is mild benzo, that is not as mind dulling, its also known to be less euphoric, it's subtle in actions. Just ask your doctor about it. It's an old drug, old benzo, but its known for it's sutle actions rather than direct

I'd go for Valium, personally. 30mgs I think is roughly equivalent to the 1.5mgs/Klonopin. If you have difficulty sleeping, the doctor could possibly add another 10mgs, for sedation.
Valium is fast acting and has a long half life. Its easier to taper than most other benzodiazepines. Diazepam is also available in a wide variety of generic pill sizes, and I think there's still a generic liquid, too.
-all- benzodiazepines can cause cognitive problems, depression, etc., but Valium isn't as bad at causing those problems as Klonopin.
I don't much care for Tranxene, although there was (maybe still is) a "T-tab" that gave all day coverage with one pill. That's convenient, which is always helpful.
Librium is somewhat similar to Valium, but less potent, so you'd need a good bit of Librium to cover your Klonopin dosage. It also functions as a muscle relaxer (more so than most other benzodiazepines), and higher doses tend to be sedating.

its good for benzo withdrawal, but they use it in 10mg, 25mg, you would start with a lower dose, doctor is the one that will decide. It's an old benzo, that has less euphoric properties than the others, its a good alternative
