I take 1 mg of klonopin at 11pm and .25 at 10am .25 at 4pm. Also luvoX was just upped to 250 in split dose 4 days ago for intrusive thoughts also take 2mg rexulti. Feeling somewhat better. Can klonopin cause depression and would Ativan be a better choice. Klonopin does not make me tired where Ativan does.

it doesn't cause depression in everyone, but it is known cause depression in people, it does reduce serotonin in parts of brain. I'll have to research to show you the sources, but i know it does reduce some serotonin from certain receptors in the brain
clonazepam is great for anxiety attacks, and preventing them, i've been on it, previous at 2mg three times a day, it kept anxiety down but it did make me depressed at times, i would be calm but not in a good mood.....yet some people love klonopin and says it works wonders for their anxiety
lorazepam is a muscle relaxer, its not classified as one, but it does relax your muscles and nerve, that may be why it causes fatigue, when i was on lorazepam i found it was less potent than clonazepam, i would have to take higher doses to get a powerful hypnotic effect if i had severe insomnia, taking 4mg of clonazepam for sleep worked wonders, 4mg of lorazepam, it relaxed me but it didn't have the powerful sedation klono has

hi. I think one needs a slightly higher dose of Ativan to = Klonopin dosage. maybe that's where the sedation comes from? there's also xanax or xanax xr, if your shrink is on board with that.
personally, I preferred Ativan. Klonopin lowered my mood a good bit, Ativan just got rid of agitation.

technically how long does the effects of klonopin/Ativan last for? If I go the Ativan route would I need 3mg to compensate for the loss of 1.5 klonopin?

hi. I'm --not-- an expert. I think Ativan is fast acting and lasts about 6 hours. Its in between Klonopin and Xanax, basically.
In terms of potency+dosage...you should probably check the ashton manual, but I think Klonopinx1.5 would do it, but I could be wrong.
Ativan tapers are harder than Valium tapers, but usually not as bad as xanax tapers (then again...few things are as difficult as xanax tapers).
has your shrink ever mentioned valium? I think 30mgs/Valium is roughly= 1.5mgs/Klonopin, and its one of the easier Mother's Little Helpers to taper.

from what i rerember Ativan lasts 6 hours, usally around that time frame, klono lasted about 4-5 hours because i would feel it wearing off, but wierd there's sites on the net saying it lasts more than 4 hours, saying it has a long half life, but from my memory it was around 4-5 hours
