her last days she had a large spending report, and i was thinking her doctor gave her Parnate with Dexamyl (dextroamphetamine/amobarbital) and im thinking it elevated the mood to do sensless spending, she was drink heavily too......
i watched a documentary said that she was forced into a psychiatric facility in i think 1960 (not sure exact) to reduce her drug intake, not to take her off but she showed up under the influence of barbiturates, and obvious even back then it was a drug problem, and then rehabs where part of psychiatric wards, they became separate treatments in later years.
But that what the doctor was giving her, Parnate and Dexamyl for a short period of time, im not sure about dexedrine, but that elated the neurotransmitter levels making impulsive pleasure indulging
i read she talked the doctor into giving her Nembutal, because they knew it was a powerful hypnotic, she was on Tuinal and transferred to it, but in her death report there was Nembutal and Choral Hydrate in large amounts in the system, and she indulged in barbiturate peacefulness at the end of the day
but i think the drugs elevated her dopamine levels to do manic like things, and spend in large amounts at the end. She was a heavy barbiturate dependant, and i think she resorted to the peacefulness and calmness of barbiturates in the midst of whatever hell was going on
but her mother was in a psychiatric facility for a large part of her life for schizophenia, not sure if norma jean masked some of it behind the flash glamour and high society status

> The shrinks basically killed Marilyn Monroe. Ever read "Blonde" ?I haven't but I've actually been waiting for the last few weeks for it to be returned to the library. I'm on a Joyce Carol Oates kick, which, given how prolific she is, could go on for a while. She also wrote a fictional treatment of Mary Jo Kopechne called Black Water. Last year, she did a fictional treatment of the Tawana Brawley case from the 1990's called Sacrifice.

hey...sorry it took me a lil while to respond...I think you'll enjoy it. I'm not the world's biggest Joyce Carol Oates fan...I've read some novels, lots of short stories, etc., here and there...but I really enjoyed "Blonde".

Nembutal even back then in 1962 was known to be potent, there was a documentary i was watching on the life of marylin monroe, and rerember 3 things, her mother had schizophenia and could take care of her, maryln monroe's real name was norma jean mortinson, and she was forced into a psychiatric facility to reduce her heavy barbiturate intake, out of all the barbiturates pentobarbital is the the "xanax" of barbiturates, it is dangerous, more addicting than benzo because it creates psychccal withdrawl symptoms also heavy psychological, the intense peacefulness and sedation is why it was abused but the only thing thy use pentobarbital now for is in veterniary offices to sedate animals.........and even from a past drug abuser i would not advice ever to use pentobarbital on a regular basis because of it's tolerance an and potency drunk like states and toxic levels
Choral Hydrade really i think that's what they should of used by itself but the doctor gave her both pentobarbital and choral hydrate, today that would be considered unethical
This is the end of the thread.
