I think that Clonazepam is holding me back

Posted by Phil on October 29, 2014, at 8:08:12

1.5mg. I'm slowly dropping the dose to 1mg and I feel much better. It's time to take a hard look at that med. I think it has slowed me down too much for way too long.

yeah....Klonopin does that. I think its worse than other benzos. My mood improved a while after I tapered off.

How's the taper going?

Phil, I said good bye to klonopin. I crossed over to valium and am tapering off it. Easier for me than direct klon taper. Im at 5.5mg now, started at 10mg which was = to my .5mg klon according to Ashton. Good luck. : )

klono is a depressing benzo.....it's not really much recreational value, and thats why it's not a choice of getting high, it does sedate and calm the nerves, but i have noticed it does blunts the mood at times, similar to phenobarbital, they both are not really that euphoric, and before bezos where on the scene, they used phenobarbital vary much, i read in an article from the early 50's that they prefer to use pheno over amobarbital because amobarb pentobarb secobarb are euphoric and can make you feel good sedated......ill have to find the article but it was from the 50's

so i think thats why they use it, and it has least recreational value.....depresso medication

lol

Klon never caused depression in me. But I think it did cause some of my motivation to go down the toilet! I let my house work go, didnt do as much yard work as I normally do. But I was chill, so maybe that's why! However, I did continue to hike at least 4 mi a day whilst on it. I just decided it's time to live life w/o meds. I no longer need the crutch, the monkey on my back.

It depressed me so much so within the first doses I felt suicidal but wasn't. So the pdoc called and said back to xanax then and was fine. P

There's no shortage of data sshowing how benzodiazapines affect cognition negatively. I take 2 mg to help me sleep and I can feel it dulling me as I slip into slumber.

If you're trying to treat anxiety, antidepressants are the way to go(not Wellbutrin).

Eric to me that is relaxing me into slumber. How does it dull cognition if you are awoken abruptly and are fully aware? Phillipa

There's a difference between being fully aware and feeling like you're fully aware.

If I performed a series of cognitive tests on you before you took clonazepam, the same test administered while you were on clonazepam would yield far different results.
