Rozerem (Ramelteon) better than supplement?

Is this med really more effective than a melatonin supplement?

In my case, yes. I used it at doses up to 8mg this summer to help with Parnate insomnia. It's not spectacular, but IMO definitely better than supplemental melatonin. Supposedly the regulation of circadian rhythms by ramelteon can help help bipolar disorder, according to something I read on pubmed...

And it does last longer than supplemental melatonin though so it can help with staying asleep too.

This medication is more effective than a supplement or it wouldn't be marketed. It has to pass through clinical trials.

I find it to act a little more strongly than Melatonin.

I'm not a big fan of clinical trials. One example: Viibryd... 9 out of 10 people don't seem to respond to this med.
