lightheadedness on risperidone??? anyone or just

Posted by alfbarks007 on January 10, 2014, at 13:56:54

I've got to ask this because it is very concerning to me but I've had a lot of light headedness on this med for the last few weeks or so. I thought it was my blood pressure making me feeling this way but after increasing my dose last night from .25 to a whopping .25 plus 1/2 of a .25 today I find myself with headaches off and on but most concerningly is this weird feeling in my head. First it feels like I'm swaying or going to fall off the chair.

Actually I had this last night too when I looked up from my chair my head went ZING! I cant really describe it but I will say I wont drive feeling this way. It is intermitten and aggravated by head movement. Not sure I should worry and ride it out for a few more days or what? I've been having it at the .25 for a good week or so but today is thee worst and probably because I've increased the dose. I did put in an email to my Dr. but who knows when she will answer so thought this may be faster and if someone else had this they could tell me if it goes away or if I need to quit the med?

have you ever tried anticonvulsants for your issues? I was thinking lamictal, in particular.

I dunno. Risperdal's weird. Atypicals in general are a weird group of drugs. If it doesn't work out and you still think tranquilizers are the way to go, maybe a low, low dose of perphenazine? Just a thought.
