what if I'm not so 'crazy,' afterall...

Posted by Christ_empowered on January 10, 2014, at 13:43:18

word on the street (I live in a really small, southern town) is that I'm not schizophrenic...just narcissistic...which is to say, I'm back where I was 7-8 years ago with the Freudian psychobabble.

Truth is, the shrinks from back in the day can't control me. They failed to have me committed, they failed to put me on a court order. I guess being free of psychiatric control=not crazy, right? OK.

Truth be told, I'd rather not be on an antipsychotic. Trileptal? Who cares, honestly? Keeps agitation at bay, doesn't seem to cause problems. But an antipsychotic, forever and ever? I dunno...

...I meet with a new shrink in a few months. We'll see what's up.

You definitely are not so crazy. You have been the most lucid and stable that I have yet seen you. As tempting as it may be, try not to rock the boat until your next doctor's visit. I hope he's a good one. Saphris and Latuda are worth discussing. Both are antipsychotics with antidepressant properties. I am thinking of trying these drugs to see if I can get off of Abilify. I weigh way too much. The other approach for me is to take metformin to control the weight gain and perhaps stave off diabetes.
