Need advice

Posted by tensor on March 21, 2013, at 9:47:52

I have had some good days on Remeron 30/45mg and amitrip 75mg, but it's been a week now since the last one. Not having much problems with side effects, except some cognitive impairment, my short-term memory is poor. Anxiety is not really under control.
I have been on this combo for four weeks. Do not like the idea of high doses of TCAs. But I can't come up with a good replacement for amitrip. Don't think nortrip is better for anxiety. Something that gives me energy and is anxiolytic. Have had little luck in the past with SSRI/SNRI for energy. I would like to keep Remeron.
Basically, a med that
* gives me energy
* is anxiolytic
* has no side effects
;-)

Would adding a small dose of an SSRI be an idea? Or should I just up the dosage of amitrip? The nice thing with amitrip is that I have been able to workout, the physical fatigue is gone.
