Nardil and noradrenelin

Posted by jono_in_adelaide on February 12, 2013, at 22:42:40

I seem to remember reading somwhere that nardil initialy increased noradrenalin levels because of its MAOI activity, but in the longer term, actualy reduced them, by some other means which escape me - but now, i cant find any reference to it anywhere.

Has anybody else ever heard this, or am i getting confused with someone else?

Oh, re the shrink, my doctor faxed off the referal letter and told me to ring for an appointment. I rang, and apparently i have to wait to see if she'll take me as a patient, and she will call me.

Hopefully I sounds crazy enough to be worth her time

The idea is that octopamine replaces norepinephrine which causes norepinephrine to not reach receptors and give off NE effects.

But I'm not sure if it's a correct theory. I experienced many NE based side effects on Nardil. Urinary retention, constipation, hyperreflexia, coldness
