Lithium, Klonopin and what?

Posted by Sheilac on July 20, 2012, at 18:27:59

I dropped the Trileptal again after I pulled my back and could barely walk. Ever since I have been on Trileptal I have had non-stop muscle and joint problems.

Now I'm just taking 600mg of lithium and 4mg of Klonopin. I'm wondering if this is enough to keep me stable.

My main problem seems to be my anger and being a nice person.

Is there another med that would help?

I guess time will tell if Lithium along with Klonopin is enough.

600 mg of Lithium is on the low side. Have you had your blood levels checked? I imagine they will be low. 900 mg is probably a more effective dose.

4 mg of Klonopin is pretty high. I take 2 mg and feel just fine. Remember, Klonopin can cause depression and is more likely to do so than any other benzodiazapine.

My suggestion for another med would be a light dose of antipsychotic, which may help with your anger. Invega is a good choice-very calming. Latuda is great and Abilify can work some wonders.
