I've lost 10 pounds!

Posted by Deneb on October 8, 2011, at 18:27:44

I'm 4'11". On Aug. 28, 2011 I was at a high weight of 134.6 lbs. Today it is Oct. 8, 2011 and I'm 124.6 lbs! That's exactly 10 pounds!

My secret is to only eat when I'm hungry. That's the way nature intended and it's working! I don't count calories at all. I even eat junk food once in a while. I don't beat myself up over it. I just move on.

My clothes are definitely looser!

Pdoc wanted me to lose some weight and I did!

The best thing is that I think I can actually keep this up for life. The difference is not counting calories. I'm no longer obsessed with counting calories and the days just fly by! I don't freak out and do the all or nothing thing when I eat too many calories.

I lost this weight without changing my meds at all. It is entirely possible to lose weight while on meds that make you gain weight!

I'm just going to continue eating like this forever and just be content with whatever weight I naturally fall into.

Deneb that is the way it usually works at least did for me. My wake up moment came when about you age at yearly ob-gyn stood on the scale weighted exactly what I did every year. And during the year had been on a lot of diets so ate what I wanted and only when hungry. Was on no meds at that time. Congrats healthy way to lose weight. Phillipa

My Mom just told me that Dad tried to prevent her from buying more diet coke because he said I was fat.

I drink a lot of diet coke. I guess he thinks it's making me fat.

10 pounds is a good start, but I have a long way to go.

Try somewhat increasing your protein (lean meat, chicken, fish, eggs, low fat dairy) and reducing your carbs and fat - I found that the protein filled me up and kept me satisfied longer with fewer calories.

Breakfast was 2 poached eggs and 2oz lean bacon, lunch was a chicken breat and salad, DINNER WAS A 250g lean steak and a salad, and I even had a snickers bar as a bedtime snack!

The weight melted off.

Has the addition of eggs in your diet affected your cholesterol? How are your triglycerides?

Thanks.

My cholesterol is great (I am blessed with good genes, noone in my family has ever had a heart attack that I know of), and my triglyerides have actualy come down on the low carb diet.

I am pretty strict ablut fat as well as carbs, I'm not doing the atkins thing where you load up on fatty meat and cheeese and butter, I make sure my meat is lean, but the fat off of my bacon, cook my eggs in a poacher without oil etc.

I find that 250 calories of chicken breast and salad for lunch keeps me satisfied a lot longer than a 250 calorie sandwhich where most of the calories come from bread and butter (you get a bin hunk of skinless chicken breast for 250 calories)....... it might not suit everybody, but it works for me.

One thing, it is a bit low in fibre, so I take a glass of Metamucil every morning, and I take a Centrum multivitamin every day with dinner "just in case"
