I prefer xr. Either way the half life is short. If I take regular effexor, I feel it's absence by the time I have to take it again. That is just me though.
I think either is hard to get off of. I felt awful after 2 days off of it, shakey, nauseous, yucky, but that was unplanned.

On it still, as high as 300mgs, now on 150mgs.
Tried to go lower, got depressed, been on it for years.
I think it made my moods swing, part of why it was lowered, lamictal added.

Laney, I took the XR version. Started with regular and switched over. That was some years back, but do not remember it feeling different. The XR was more convenient. Less interdose up and down, something I am sensitive to.
Why did I stop? It was another attempt at being med-free. Too bad, because I had a good run on it. I actually liked it.
