Do TCA's and SNRI's (block) work the same way?

If they dont I might try something like Nortriptaline with Effexor next.

yeah they are both reuptake inhibitors, it's just ssri's and snri's are more selective. A few here still use them together though.

Generaly the TCA's (except clomipramine) work more on noradrenalin than seretonin, where as the SNRI's tend to work more on seretonin than noradrenalin...... so they are similar but different.

You can get a ballanced SNRI effect by taking Zoloft and Nortriptyline together at the same time, say Zoloft 50-100mg per day, nortriptyline 75-100mg per day

TCAs often affect other things like histamine, muscarinic, 5h2a, calcium channels, etc. can cause side effects or better recovery.
