how many people have found a correlation between caffeine & cycling? i drink diet coke and coffee occassionally.
unfortunately, diet coke helps my food allergies for some reason. (sugar = makes me feel like i would kill for protein)
i guess i should eliminate caffeine. why is it that the healthy food is what makes me feel like crap and thyroid meds make me more depressed? nothing makes sense.
another question - do you think caffeine or dexedrine are worse for rapid cycling?

Throid meds also make you feel horrible same here on synthroid hate the med. I want to get my antibodies checked again as read that hasimotos can resolve. But not hopeful on that. I also had a friend who's husband is a pdoc write that synthroid can cause anxiety? I would think only if not prescribed right. Caffeine and I don't get along since the thyroid started. Phillipa

Don't really notice that it causes cycling but I certainly have to slow it down during the highs and I need a lot of coffee during the lows just to get going. It's almost like I'm trying to recreate the energy of my manias with coffee. I drink way too much coffee and diet soda. I know that I need to eliminate caffeine and boost exercise if I really want to get serious about stability, but unfortunately my bad habits just like to stick around.

I'm an ultra-rapid-cycler, and caffeine definitely is a trigger for me. I'm currently tapering off benzos, so I'm especially sensitive to it.
It's a real balancing act, since a _little_ caffeine is really good for my mood when depressed, but a bit too much & I'm straight into an anxious mixed state and wanting to self-medicate with extra benzos, or hypomanic & posting for hours on Psychobabble <g>.
