Hey Guys -
I was only on Risperdal (.25mg) for 2 days but my tongue started feeling stiff. When I immediatly stopped taking it, my tongue has felt generally weird and I have to open my mouth and move it around for it to feel normal.
I assume this is normal EPS symptoms. Doctor gave me Cogentin to take to resolve this.
Any chance this is Tardive Dyksina?
Just need reassurance that this will go away. It's embarassing to be wiggling my tongue in conversations. Not trying another antipsychotic!

The changes of you developing tardive dyskensia after taking 0.25mg of risperidone a day for 2 days are about the same as the second comming of christ happening in your living room tonight - while it isnt totaly impossible, its extremely unlikely.
Most doctors feel that EPS are unlikely at doses below 6mg of risperidone - you must have been very unlucky

when I took risperdal for 2 weeks, it made my body stiff as a board. It went away when I stoped it. Pretty quickly.
This is the end of the thread.
