Lithium helpful?

Posted by markwell on April 25, 2011, at 9:53:08

I've about exhausted my trial of Tegretol and thinking about another trial with lithium. I tried it for a month last year without much luck. It didn't seem to help with sleep or racing thoughts which are symptoms I seriously suffer from. Has anyone tried lithium who experiences racing thoughts and insomnia and had any luck. Maybe a month wasn't a long enough trial. This is the last med for me to try. I would appreciate any insights.

I have rapic cycling too, called ultra radeon biplar, the cycling happens in a 24 our period. Its like a motor in my mind keeps running.

What i use that most helps is a combo of klonopin, nuerontin, gabpetin to be precise, and a legal over the counter ordable benzo on found on the net called mebicar. You can google order mebicar, its legal since its non script, its a real benzo with out sedation,it even beat valium in studios.

Im thinking of adding lithium myselg as my girl said i did better on it,i dident notice, but alone its ismply not enough for that brain racing.

I don't think I'm considered a rapid cycler I just have racing thoughts. I think they are anxiety related somehow. I'm not having much luck with Tegretol I just don't have any ambition on it. In someways it has helped with racing thoughts and in someways my anxiety is worse. My pdoc says lithium is all that's left to try. I don't know what to do.
