Effexor - increased emotions?!

I was feeling absolutely flat and emotionless on Paxil CR 50 and Remeron 15.

My doc lowered Paxil to 25mg for 2 weeks. Still nothing. He then added Effexor XR 75mg, 10 days ago.

Bingo!

For the first time in years, I'm actually feeling again: sadness, happiness etc (not over the top, but still very noticeable). My motivation has increased too.

Any ideas as to how Effexor might be working? I was not expecting anything from this trial.

The Effexor withdrawal stuff scares me, but will just worry about it when the time comes.

Side effects: slight drowsiness, constipation (it's a good thing as it counters the Paxil GI effects).. maybe a bit of nausea. That's it.
