35mgs Abilify? Celexa?

Posted by Christ_empowered on December 21, 2010, at 18:30:34

I told my p-doc I'd been hearing voices and he thinks its bipolar depression. He wants to temporarily increase the Abilify to 35mgs/day and add in 20mgs/celexa for a while.

Anybody have experience with similar combos to share?

I'd recomend fluvoxamine, which has a more clearly defined effect in psychotic depression. It might spare the need for increased abilify.

Luvox for psychotic depression? I was told was used in OCD and a former poster became psycotic on luvox. Phillipa

Its possible for any medication to induce psychosis.

However, fluvoxamine has been shown clinically to be more effective in depression with comorbid psychosis than other SSRIs.

The voices are associated with real people, talking about diagnoses I had in the past that lots of people in my small town found out about--narcissism, drug dependence, etc.

My current diagnosis is Bipolar I. My doctor didn't seem phased by the psychotic aspect of the depression; I guess he's seen it all before. Anyway, I've got to get that celexa filled and start on the new program...

Thanks for your input, everyone.
