Abilify withdrawal or Geodon side effects?

Posted by chocoholic on September 20, 2010, at 0:00:33

Has anyone experienced Abilify withdrawal? I can't tell if my symptoms are from Abilify withdrawal or Geodon, which I crossed over to (in 4 days) over a month ago.

I sometimes feel like electricity is shooting through my body in the afternoon and evening. I also have horrible anxiety, my digestive system is screwed up, and I have acid reflux. I also get bothersome temperature dysregulation in the afternoon and evenings. My body feels generally out-of-kilter.

On the positive side, I wake up alert for the first time in years and feel more present in my life. I can read again, which is great and can actually concentrate. I am losing weight without dieting.

I'm just having trouble sorting this all out. My pdoc is not really familiar with Geodon.

Any thoughts or experiences with this?

Its probably the abilify withdraw, which can be realy nasty. It takes a long time to get over it, even if you swtich to anouther med. I get nasty anxiety withdrawing from abilify, seems worse than when on it. It does go away. Think I've had most of those other symptoms too.

Sounds like neuroleptic withdrawal to me.
