So weird. So very weird.
I have been in pain all day today. Flu like symptoms and very tired.
My best friend called me tonight to congratulate me on my new job and to talk. We spent about an hour talking.
My pain and flu like symptoms and tiredness have go away. WTF does this mean? I am so confused!! Maybe my problems are all psychological.
I don't understand.

Hi Maxie,
Pain is quite subjective and the way in which it is experienced is closely linked to mood and anxiety. When your mood is good, the pain will be much more tolerable or even forgotten. I don't think this is unusual.
So how can you do more fun things in your life to make you feel better? Maybe when you start the new job?

It felt such bliss to feel good for about an hour. That was the best I have ever felt in long time. I slept better too because I was pain free.
This morning I woke to being in pain and being really tired. I was so sad.
I don't if the job will help. I tend to get a lot of stress (that I put on myself) when I work because I want everything to be perfect. Maybe it will help because I will be training peopple most of the day.
Thanks Ed. Love ya! xoxo

Maxie do you wake in a sad mood as I do and notice all aches and pains? I'm glad you got your job. Phillipa

Yes, I do wake up in a sad mood and my whole body hurts. The physical pains stay with me all the time which makes it hard to fall asleep. I have tried Tylenol and Aleve for the pain, but it doesn't help.
My mood gets better as the day goes on (still sad but to a lesser degree) and then it plummets again at night.
What do you take for the aches and pains?

Well same here to above. I take nothing for aches and pains as with the osteoporosis I'm afraid could mask a stress fracture or something. I also think thyroid leads to fibromyalgia, chronic fatique and know from what I've read that synthroid can lead to osteoporosis. So I wear a binder when I ride my bike and hope my mood improves but that is late and now it's getting dark early no money for a gym and would be afraid of being inside with all those people. Phillipa my internist did say take tylenol arthritis formula reason being the liver clears the med out fast where motrin which I like causes too many stomach problems. I read an article at one time comparing the two can't remember what it said. Phillipa

NO! Your pain is NOT just psychological. What you experienced was a wonderful distraction from it. There's a powerful emotional connection there, and it's a gift when we're able to distance ourselves from chronic or recurring pain and instead be so immersed in something - or someone - else that we aren't conscious of that pain.
It's great that you and your friend were able to connect so well that you could leave your pain behind for a while.

Yay for you! I actually get some of my relief by making my cat purr and imagining that the throbbing noise is an attempt to heal my own pain. (That goes in the box of "whatever works" - the cat is definitely clueless...)

It was really bad today. Really bad. I am scared that it will affect my instruction next week.
This is the end of the thread.
