Can anyone give me some advice on what is the correct way to wean off Nardil 75mg/day?
I plan to meet with my p doc next week about coming off of Nardil. I do know some people here have taking Nardil and have also come off it properly. Any suggestions to wean off 75mg/day and how long it usually takes to come off it would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Sorry, I haven't been on the board for quite some time. And sorry that Nardil is not working out for you. Since you have only been on the medication for a couple of months, I would think you could titrate down fairly quickly. I'm a long term user and I can reduce by 15mg every few days. That is after being on Nardil for years at a time. Of course, we are all different, so your side effects from withdrawal could be completely different than mine. Ask your doctor.My problem, is that within a few months of quiting Nardil, my depression always returns. I think I am a lifer. OH well. At least it generally works for my major depression and social anxiety. I still have some residual dysthymia, but I can handle that.
Nardil does have a lot of side effects. That is one of the reasons it can be a medication of last resort for some people. It works best when the depression is atypical, with associated social anxiety. I thing you said you were just taking it for the social anxiety.
I have found, that for me-I'm a large male, that at 60mg a lot of the side effect of the medication are minimized. And I have had just about all of them over the years.
