Hi all:
Was curious--is Pfizer still pursuing a FDA indication for GAD for Lyrica? Does anyone know the status, or why it was rejected?
I've found Neurontin helpful in the past--my anxiety is actually pretty okay right now but something to think about for the future!
I think more US docs will prescribe it if and when it gets this approval....

I didn't know they were heard more addictive than benzos. Isn't it now for pain? Phillipa

It was approved for GAD in Europe in '06 I believe, but the FDA rejected it for that indication. It's approved for seizures, neuropathic pain and fibromyalgia in the US.
It's Schedule V in the US, which means the FDA feels it has less abuse potential than benzos, which are in Schedule IV.
If its anxiolytic qualities are anything like Neurontin (I have heard great things here and elsewhere) I hope Pfizer persues it. I don't know why it was rejected.
I am not Pfizer's biggest fan for what they did to Nardil tho--although I never took the old one, and the new one worked for me for awhile, I've read horrible accounts of suffering due to their negligance.
