Hello folks
i have to come off abilify which i have been on 2mg for a month , should i tirerate down or co off all at once. need advice

Cee I'm sorry it didn't work out for you what happened if might ask. I guess taper unless you have no problems discontinuing meds. What did you doc suggest and are you going to substitute another med? Phillipa

I think everyone would react differently. For some it would be traumatic, others easy. No way to tell.
Me personally, I would do something like this:
Alternate between 2mg and 1mg every other day, bringing the average blood level of the drug down very gently. About a week.
Then I would do 1mg daily for about 4 days.
Then I would do 1mg every other day.
Then 1mg every third or 4 th day.
And feel it out from there.
One thing in your favor is that the halflife is very long, several days. Don't remember exactly, but it is long. It will leave your system slowly, making withdrawal potentially easier.
If the going is fairly easy, get more aggressive and go faster. If the going is rough, go slower.
