How can I be tired on Dexedrine? I guess caffeine hasn't ever really helped either. Or maybe it depends on the day?
Before and after Dex I haven't been tired all the time, but more than most people. Why do people assume there is a reason you are tired? "Did you not get enough sleep?" Yes, my body is just retarded and makes no sense:)

Alchemy, fatigue is one of the most prominent symptoms of my illness. And most debilitating. I can sleep on my stimulant. Sorry--I don't have anything helpful.

Just a thought- I find that on higher doses of stimulants I get tired- try lowering the dose....my pdoc explained that when the dose is too high people often experience fatigue (seems ironic but true) so I lowered the dose and it actually helped. Also, coffee tends to cause fatigue as it wears off due to the rebound effect- I switched to decaf which also helped me some.

what dose are you on?
I think...20mg of d-amphetamine is the average dose and you cannot get any higher than that in a single dose unless it's used recreationally...
you may try 30mg with a benzo like klonopin which takes out the anxiety caused by amphetamine

I am on 20mg. It was the other day that I took my dexadrine & had a coffee. Then shortly after I became really tired.
It doesn't always happen that I become tired right after. Even on Provigil I was still tired a lot.
I will have to pay more attention to see if it has a negative, positive, or no effect.

'fatigue' is basically an outgrowth of energy use, so i think nutritional factors likely play an especially large role in it. light & seasonal changes in vitD level as well.

If I am lucky, amphetamine gives me a mild energy boost for 1-3 days, whereafter it has no effect, or even produces some tiredness, regardless of how much the dosage is increased. A recent trial of amphetamine produced no results. It is interesting that amphetamine can, at times, work paradoxically to attenuate hyperkinetic and manic states.Too much caffeine makes me tired and sleepy. Small amounts are better for giving me more mental energy.
