Valdoxan for sleep

Posted by X-ray on March 24, 2010, at 11:39:21

Hi,

I would like to hear from babblers who are familiar with this drug.

I might try this medicine for sleep.
Wellbutrin takes care of my depression.

Best regards,
X-ray

I have heard of someone who combines it with Wellbutrin and is happy with it.

Agomelatine tends to help with sleep when the dose is right.
Taking too much, especially at first, can lead to sleep disruption.
Otherwise it promotes a natural sleep.

Rozerem (ramelteon), like Valdoxan (agomelatine), stimulates melatonin M1 and M2 receptors. Perhaps these two drugs both enhance sleep equally. I really don't know. It might be worth looking into.

I tried it a few months ago (at night in conbination with a benzo).
The first few nights it made me somewhat tired, but my sleep wasn't good.
I woke up several times and my sleep was filled with nightmares.
I took it for severe apathy/lack of motivation and sleep disorder.
After a few days it worked more as a stimulant (no sleep improvement at all) and gave me bad agitation.
I started taking it in the morning then.
But the agitation was so bad that I had to quit.
IMO it's not good for sleep.
If you're Benzo-naive maybe it works different though.
