I'm interested in hearing from anyone who takes Lamictal above 200mgs. Did you have improvement? More side effects? I might be increasing to 300mgs but I really need something that will help with depression side of things. I would rather try more Lamictal first before adding on something new that I have no experience with. I've never been on the atypicals, and ssri cause me to cycle...

Hi. I remained at 300mg of Lamictal for quite awhile. Overall, I don't think it helped me any more than 200mg. However, the negative impact on cognition and memory of the higher dosage was substantial.I would try the higher dosage. There are people who do better at dosages above 200mg.

Yes try as I'd hoped to be able to take a higher dose than 50mg myself as I had no side effects other than horrible spitting which is only reason stopped Phillipa

Well my dr. says he has seen improvement above 200mg in others. I have been on 300 and am slowly going up. I haven't noticed anything, but I guess I need to try it. I'm not sure I noticed anything at 300. My side effect is an increase in acne every time I increase Lamictal that eventually subsides.

I was at 300 and it was very helpful for me. I felt calmer. It was a better anti-depressant than the SSRI's had been. But then it made my hair fall out.....so I went off it (don't panic though, I understand this is not a common side effect).
