I have been on Seroquel
From Jan 22 - Jan 30 50mg (but skipped about 5 days)
From Feb 5 - Feb 11 25mg
From Feb 12 - Feb 15 50mg
From Feb 16 - Mar 6 100mg
Mar 7 - 200mg
Mar 8 - 300mg
From Mar 9 - Mar 15 400mgI have been reducing by 25mg every day. Is this a safe reduction. I am at 300mg now. I want off this as quickly as possible, but w/o taking any risks. Thanks.

Did the medication start to work worse with the higher doses, or did it never work?
When you're on higher doses, you can often come down faster (25mg a day would probably be fine).
When you get down to 100mg you may wish to go slower.

Thanks for your reply. I would have to say in the beginning it was sedating, but didn't do anything else. I am not a big fan of the neuroleptics unless absolutely necessary. So to answer your question, I would have to say it didn't do anything mood/depression wise, but initially helped with sleep.
So when down to 100mg, you think a smaller reduction or just stay at the reduced dose for a few days, i.e. go down to 75 for 3 days, then 50, etc.
I don't think it is available in sizes less than 25mg. I remember reading that it was inadvisable to split the pills due to oxidation.

If you split the pill right away and take it seal the other piece why wouldn't that work? Phillipa

That's what I read from someone on this group. Even if you attempt to seal it in foil or some other medium you are still not making an airtight seal.
I suspect as a general rule if pills are not scored for separating then you shouldn't attempt to cut them.
