I love how the stimulants give me focus and concentration for my ADHD, but I'm not sure I can stick with them.
Stimulants are giving me a headache. I've tried cutting the dose in half.
Would just taking my depakote help with focus or would it just help with moodiness?
Anyone else get headaches from ADHD meds?

Yes, but they subsided. Really. Over a few weeks. How bad are they? And what are you trying? Strattera gave me a non-stop, OMG headache that was beyond the pale. What level of discomfort are you experiencing, 1-10?
hang in there!

Well, the headaches pretty much suck. I've noticed that anytime I eat something the headache goes away temporarily. Maybe this is because the blood flow is temporarily diverted to my gut for digestion? I don't know. But I can't eat all day!I am drinking plenty of fluids.
Do you think by taking my depakote regularly (which I have been afraid to do due to possible weight gain, even though I only take 250mg - 500mg) that would help with the headaches?
I hate the headache.
On another note, the stimulants totally get rid of my anxiety and slight depression. Strange. It must be whatever brain chemical they effect.

Have you checked your blood pressure. The stimulants might be raising that. And could be a headack.

Shelia,
I can't answer the depekote question--sorry.
Your response to stimulant seems positive (minus the headache), esp the sense of calmness.
Can you rate the severity of your headaches on a 1-10 scale?
BTW, regular small meals and snacks might help. The tendency with stimulants may be to skip meals.

The calmness thing is weird. I don't know why a stimulant would help with anxiety. But it does.
Not sure if I can stick with Vyvanse though, the asthma is really bad on Vyvanse. I even tried liquefying 20mg and taking only 1/4 and I still had bronchial issues.
But I noticed on Focalin and Adderall I felt more hungry - which I didn't like.
This is the end of the thread.
