Does anyone out there take and ADD med along with an antidepressant and mood stabilizer?
So far I haven't experienced the depression that some people complain about on stimulants. For a while I did take Effexor (and tried Pristiq) with stimulants and it worked pretty good.
What about a mood stabilizer? Does anyone find that they need a mood stabilizer with their stimulants?
Do stimulants make you manic?

>The most important thing is to stabilize your moods before adding an ADD med. Possibly what you think may be ADD is a form of bipolar, since they both can mimmick each other. It's very difficult to diagnose, esp. in younger school age kids. There's alot of hormonal issues going on at the same time.

Years ago I took Adderall without a stabilizer and it caused me to cycle and I became really depressed. I didn't think I was bipolar at the time. I took it for depression & motivation. It was awesome for about a week.
I actually just started Dexadrine today, while being on Lamictal. I am a little nervous about it, we'll see how it goes.
