I've been on Zoloft for several years and it's seems to have petered out.
My new doc has weaned me off of the zoloft and i'm now on prozac. It's been about 3 weeks.Question: I was on 200mg of Zoloft and she's starting me on 20mgs of Prozac.
Is that equivilent? Perhaps that's just a starting dose?

Personally I feel prozac is stronger than zoloft. I think the starting dose of zoloft used to be 50mg now 25mg here and prozac starting dose used to be 20mg and now lower. You need an expert for this question. Phillipa

That would a starting dose. The regular dosage is 60 mg but I had to go as high as 100 mg to get relief. I hope the Prozac works for you!

to me personally, 20 MGS seems LOW compared to being on the highest dose of Zoloft that is recommended. One can go up to 80 MGS of Prozac. I'd question your doctor about this one. If it's a starting dose... makes sense. If yoru doctor cross tapered you from 200 MGS of Zoloft to 20 MGS of Prozac.... I personally would not be a happy camper.
