Now that it has been out for awhile and more people how dose it compare? I'm still confused at what the 50 mg dose is suppose to be equivalent to as a standard dose for Effexor (75 vs 150). Also I have tried samples, and all that I noticed different was that it seemed more powerful yet didn't have nearly the same anti-anxiety effect (perhaps the difference between effexor FDA indicated for anxiety and pristiq not). Also this doesn't seem to be the same situation with Celexa vs Lexapro. Lexapro has more indications in the U.S. under the FDA, and there have been head-to-head studies between the two (most of which show Lexapro more efficacious with less dosage). I've never seen a head to head with Pristiq or claims from Wyeth or Doctors that it works better.

In reply to Pristiq really any better than Effexor XR?, posted by bearfan on July 5, 2009, at 1:53:43
Hi Bearfan,
Truthfully, I don't know, though I've been on both, as far as AD efficacy. I do feel less side effects at my current 50 dose of pristiq than I ever did on Effexor. Am I less depressed? I don't think so....
Is it better for men? I'll let the guys here thresh that out.fb
