Hi everbody: I'm starting Parnate next week and am worried about the diet. How do you get enough protein? I live alone and hate to cook, so I'm big on frozen dinners and fast food. Not a great diet but better than bags of candy and donuts which this amytripilene leads me to!
Thanks to everyone on this forum!! I have learned SO MUCH here! Thanks also to Zana and Phillipa for the welcome! Gayle

Gayle how sweet to include me in your thread. Makes me smile:). Not being an MAOI user or expert I do see some on the board today. Might want to target. SLS, Shasling, Desolationrower. Love Phillipa

Good idea Phillipa. I don't think getting enough protein is a problem unless you are a vegetarian. Even then, as I remember from being on EMSAM, you can eat fresh tofu. You mainly have to stay away from fermented or aged foods. If you google MAOI diet, I'm sure you will get a comprehensive list. And your doctor should also give you a hand-out.
Good luck with it. Let us know how it goes.

well, i'm not really one to help people figure out how to eat fast 'food' or frozen 'food'...buy almonds or peanuts, have whey protein, canned beans. i live alone too, i usually cook (when i was working, on the weekends, tho now just whenever) a big meal like a stew/curry/soup something, and then freeze/refrigerate most of it, usually get like 4-5 meals out of each cooking.
you know i was thinking the other day only think i really dislike about not have $ is not being able to go skiing, this was like the 5ht winter in a row i havent'. do you?

Desolationrower: thanks for the response. I'm not proud of what a lazy eater I am! Just tellin the truth and trying to figure out that diet!
Skiing..yes, Colorado has fabulous skiing. I started when I was very young and always loved it..until black depression hit me and I've not felt well enough or had enough energy to even think about it. and yes, it has gotten so expensive that I wonder how ANYONE affords it! yet the roads are ski areas are totally jammed! Maybe the Parnate will get me going again! I told some of my history under "Anxiety and depression cause you to feel this bad?" by courtney. I changed the title to "WORSE" and now I don't see it displayed. By changing the title did I lose it?
This is the end of the thread.
