Picamilon?

Posted by Cseagraves on April 23, 2009, at 12:16:03

Hey to all.

I'm thinking about trying picamilon. The only meds I am on right now are low dosages of xanax to control anxiety. Take .5 in morning, .5 in afternoon and 1.5 in evening along with benadryl for sleep. (These dosages only keep anxiety to a minimum)

Would it be o.k. to add picamilon to this beginning at 50 mgs a day as that seems to be the dosage for anxiety? Do you think it would interfere with the xanax, which I would really like to ween off of?

Also read where it has an maoi effect. Does that mean I would have to follow same restrictions as if I were on a maoi?

Advice please!

Courtney

Hey Phillipa!

I've decided no more ssri's and do not want to start on the maoi route either. I found an article at www.antidepressantsfacts.com/reaction.htm. I think this describes what happened to me. It just seems that its an never ending cycle to find something that will work for an extended period of time. It's a viscious cycle going on and off so many meds. Even myco is having issues on Nardil now and I just don't want to go through all of this with meds.

Since having a severe allergic reaction to zoloft a couple of weeks ago, I just feel like seratonin is not my issue. I'm not depressed. In general, I am a very happy person. I'm just pissy because I dont understand what happened about a year ago when I started to slowly regress away from being sociable. At first I described it as a fear that I couldn't understand, but now I can see that I became hypersensitive to everything.

This article may not apply to everyone, but when I think back over the last couple of years and going through some highly stressful events, and trying several ssris among other meds, my body just became hyper sensitive. So I am staying away from everything that screws with seratonin levels, because I don't think thats my issue. I figured out that I get anxietal because when I try to go out, I feel overwhelmed very easily.

So, if its possible to let my brain heal with time, I would rather take that course for now. It will just take time and patience. I ordered a bottle of the picamilon, and was just wondering if anyone else had experience with it.

I already eat an alkalinizing balanced diet and keep a close eye on my ph levels. I am also trying to find a naturopathic doc in my area to help. Who knows!

Saw some good reviews on the picamilon on some other sites and was just curious.

How have you been? Well I hope.

Luvs,
Courtney

Didn't talk to myco today. I saw a hormone doc and virtually have no hormones left so now will start with bioidentical. And T3 is too low, and FSH is much to high as should have gone down a few years post menopause. Seems like a lot are commenting on meds doing stuff to their brains. I agree. Let it heal. I need to google that name sorry haven't yet long trip to get the hormones. Love Phillipa

Picamilion is actualy more of a nutrient.Supplmental gaba cant cross the brain,so picmilion is gaba bonded to niacin. This not only allows gaba to cross into the brain, but niacin also has many benifits.

Its mild compared to a actual pharm med,but some people really love love it.Never heard of it having maoi properties,if so they are very mild, and thats if so,and yess its actualy a good idea to add to your xanax to give you a possable mood elevation as well as provide brain gaba to allow xanax to utilize more.

Definalty worth a try id say, also might want to look into that in combo with another strong nutrient called Phenibutt, lot of people stack them, also look up l theanine.good luck

i wouldn't call it a nutrient, any more than nicotine is a nutrient because it resembles niacin.

i think it might be synergystic with the xanax. i have some around here, might try it again.
